It’s almost that “Daily Scatter Chasse” time of the year again and I’m so excited I just can’t hide it! Considering there are sixteen couples this year, I’m quite amazed there are only four professional dancers that have been with the show since its humble beginnings at Barking Town Hall in 1963. They were kind enough to take time out to answer some questions for me.
Anton d’Uzbeckistan, our resident Latin Sex God nodded vigorously, well, he does everything vigorously, let’s be honest, when I asked if this would finally be his year. “You’d think, wouldn’t you, what with the fan base I’ve picked up?”
About blonde bombshell Jilliane Tail-lights, 33, his new partner, Anton gushed: “She is an absolute star in the training room. She’s picked up everything I’ve thrown at her - my left shoe, the cassette deck, the flask …”
Camelia Danderup, Series 27 winner with hunky rugby star, Seth Bones, was equally impressed with Royal butler, Tom Miladys-Chambers, 65, the closest the Beeb got to a royal on the show this year. “I know he’s no spring chicken, but what he lacks in pizazz he more than makes up for in the way he can fold napkins.”
Always the bridesmaid, Swedish Ice Queen Erring Bone, 21, is determined to go one better than runner up again this year, hopeful that the mental toughness of ‘Stop Fear’ presenter Austin Allegro will see them through the trials and tribulations of a long run. “After all, if he can persuade burly men to not be scared of their wives building Kit -Cars, he can stand up to the judges.”
Partnered by Russain games heiress, Nataliya Kerplunk, 47, in the first series, the shy and introvert Bendy Pole was an unexpected winner and is unusually forward in gauging his chances, partnered with the ambitious ex-Secretary General of the UN, Liza Montblanc. “I think we could do all right, actually.”
The preview show starts on 13th September, leading up to the dancing actually starting on the 20th. As usual, I’ll keep you posted! Keeeeeeeep Reading!
